Restosleep began in 1991, born from the passion and perseverance of our founder, Mr. Akbar Shariff. With nothing more than a small workspace and a big dream, he individually-crafted mattresses and pillows in Bangalore — personally delivering them.
By 1994, his dedication and craftsmanship led to the establishment of our first factory. While production scaled, the commitment to personal quality remained unchanged. In 1995, he gave the brand its name — Restosleep — a reflection of his core belief: that good sleep is the foundation of a good life.
In 1997, driven by a desire to bring world-class comfort to Indian homes, he imported advanced manufacturing machines from Germany and Japan — a bold move that setup a bigger plant which set a benchmark in quality and consistency.
Amid the 2008 economic crisis , Restosleep continued its journey with quiet resilience — guided by principles that had always prioritized sustainability over speed.
In the year 2010, his son joined the business, bringing fresh energy and a modern outlook. He played a key role in expanding the brand, setting up Restosleep stores across Bangalore , expanding dealer network and modernizing operations to meet the evolving needs of customers. Together, father and son grew Restosleep into a proud second-generation venture — blending heritage with innovation. Built on the values of honesty, hard work, and trust, Restosleep earned a quiet yet steady reputation for comfort and reliability. Word spread not through advertising, but through happy customers who valued true craftsmanship.
